Back in the dark ages, when the Internet was still known as ARPANet and ordinary people reached out for digital completion with modems, there was the Central Neural System Bulletin Board System. Originally a node in RBBS-Net and later in FidoNet, the CNS BBS offered files, information, and online discussion of technology and life sciences. The main draw then was an extensive collection of source code and programs for artificial neural networks, artificial intelligence, and evolutionary computation.

Central Neural System as a website aims to help make advanced biologically-inspired computation topics accessible for more people. Community and discussion will be the main ways in which CNS will do this.
